Hi good morning. My name is Tobenna and Id like to call myself a baby writer. I am struggling to develop a television pilot and I am genuinely stuck with the idea about a young man who takes the fall for his friend who sleeps with how lecturers wife. Please I don’t know what to do next

Omg Nicole, I love you. Thank you very much. I am slowly getting an idea of what I want to write about
First of all Tobenna is my brother's name so I am already a fan of you!
Let's take a step back from the pilot. My first question would be - do you have the whole idea for the TV show? It helps to workout what the whole show is about first. Then you can identify how the story unfolds. In the unfolding, you can start to outline how it starts (your pilot) and how it builds through the episodes to the ultimate conclusion".
Questions that came to my mind from what you wrote that you should consider answering before attempting to write your pilot
1) What genre is it?
2) What makes my TV show different from all the others?
3) Where is the story set / where does it take place?
4) Why does the young man take the fall / what are the stakes?
6) What does he stand to lose by taking the fall?
5) What is the dynamic of friendship between the young man and his friend?
7) What are the implications of what he's done? How does the story unravel?
8) Does he learn anything?
9) Who is the wife? Why would you have an affair with a student?
10) Is it set in a University and what time period does it take place?
9) What are the themes of your story i.e what messages are you trying to portray?
When you are done with all this - try writing a logline. This log line should be 2-3 sentences (max) that details everything that your story is about. Once you have a logline you think is fire (pitch to your friends, ask what they think) - then do your outline and after that, start your pilot.
I'm actually writing a pilot right now and I found this article useful - https://www.studiobinder.com/tv-show-pilot-scripts/
Goodluck!
